2d AP Art Portfolio
I investigated emotion in art focusing on fears. I began researching the effect of color on mood. 3 Yellow-green shows illness/cowardness, gray-loneliness, black-evil, and red-danger. 4-5 further researched/improved expressive use of color using real fur and bandages in warm grey color palette to show sickness. 6 reflected on the absence of color and effect of blue to add emphasis highlighting the masks and isolation. 7 looks at how texture impacts mood, contrasting areas of dangerous sharp texture with hazy fog illustrating loneliness of death. 8-9 wanted to incorporate materials to enhance the story using animal teeth to paint intensely textured fur. Reflecting on a need to improve my lighting, 10 experimented with sihillottes to show mystery. Unsatisfied, I continued to improve lighting techniques and show fear in 11. 12 researched photography skills to improve, using scary red lighting and learning a dutch angle can increase uneasiness. 13-15 began to study how body language and manipulation of facial features impacts emotion. 14 conveyed with askew shoulders and head showing instability as the viewer’s eyes are led to the wolves. Uncanny valley facial features in 15 unsettle.
